Paul Valere (1928-1992)

He was born October 26, 1928 in Berck sur Mer, France. Paul Valere has sketched since his very early childhood. From sketching he advanced to watercolors and eventually chose oil as his medium.

Although his paintings are inspired by the French countryside, there is a feeling of a fairytale quality that makes his work so appealing. Valere captures on canvas the beauty of France, depicting it's countryside and people, painting the antiquated towns and villages, most familiar to him.

His identity is a bit of a mystery, to the point where he was at one time involved in an FBI investigation that took weeks to locate him- due to his name being a pseudonym. It seems that Valere led an interesting life, but not much is known about the specifics.
